We are committed to making your visit to Summerhall an enjoyable experience and we are working to make our venue as accessible as possible. The building is B-listed and is over one hundred years old and not all of our spaces are fully accessible. If coming into Summerhall using the main entrance please be aware that there are nine steps up to reception and the steps do not have a handrail. Our step-free access is through the side entrance on Summerhall Square. The Royal Dick Bar and Restaurant is situated to your right as you come in (with a ramp at the rear of the bar) and there is a ramp directly ahead of you that leads to the reception, box office, shop and café and our accessible venues. Although there is no on-site parking at Summerhall, especially during the Fringe, there is parking using either pay and display machines or single yellow line spaces on Summerhall Square beside our step free access. Please be aware that this street is a dead end, and quite short and therefore parking there can be quite competitive. We have lift access to some of the first floor spaces and the basement spaces. Further information about individual spaces and shows can be obtained from the box office. There are 9 steps up to the main entrance of Summerhall, these steps do not have a handrail. Wheelchair and limited-mobility access is via the side entrance on Summerhall Square which is clearly marked by the large vehicle gates. As you enter The Royal Dick is situated to the right (with a ramp at the rear) or there is a ramp directly ahead that leads into the main building.

Red Lecture Theatre
Accessible entry: Once in the Courtyard, follow the signs up the access ramp, pass in front of the decking bar and into the main reception. Follow signage down the corridor, past the Café turning left at the neon corridor. Once past the double doors, the Red Lecture Theatre is directly ahead. There are 14 steps down to the space, a further 10 steps through the seating and onto the stage. The Access Route requires Duty Manager Assistance from the reception of the main building, consisting of an escort via the Tech Cube building lift.

The Dissection Room
Accessible entry: Once in the Courtyard, follow the signs up the access ramp, pass in front of the decking bar and into the main reception. The Access Route requires Duty Manager Assistance from the reception of the main building, consisting of an escort up the main lift, through the galleries, into a platform lift, through to the Dissection room. Cairns Lecture Theatre
Accessible entry: Once in the Courtyard, standing facing the Royal Dick pub take the alleyway to the left. Walk past the left-hand side of the Yellow Tent in front of you and through the Double Doors. Cairns Lecture Theatre is up a flight of stairs. The Access Route requires Duty Manager Assistance from the reception of the main building, consisting of an escort up the main lift, through the galleries, into a platform lift, through the Dissection room and onwards to Cairns.
