There are some steps to the High Altar and Lady Chapel in the Cathedral, and also for access to the Song School. Please contact us in advance with any queries if possible and we will do our best to help.

Accessible entry: There is a permanent stone ramp attached to the north door. The main entrance on Palmerston place can be accessed by a wooden ramp that is temporarily placed over the stone steps. This ramp is not suitable for all wheelchair users so it is advised to use the north entrance.

Description

This grand building, distinguished by its three spires, filled with art and music, and surrounded by gardens and trees, is an oasis of calm in Edinburgh’s West End. Host to numerous recitals and concerts which take full advantage of the beautiful acoustic. The Song School, open for regular tours, is decorated with gorgeous murals by arts and crafts artist Phoebe Anna Traquair.
